What is NASBA?
NASBA, founded in 2001, is the largest channel reseller association in North America today. NASBA provides
exclusive programs, services, and cost saving opportunities to over 12,000 North American member companies
serving primarily white box/system builder, systems integrator, solution provider and VAR, convergence and
home automation channel reseller businesses. Our association programs and services are specifically designed to
address member profit and loss pain-points, business education challenges, and general business issues and
concerns.
Please visit our About NASBA and Testimonials areas for more information.
Are there any other associations that compete directly with NASBA?
There are various agencies and oraganizations that provide channel services, but none as complete as NASBA nor with as much breadth and range of services for members and vendor partners alike.
Can the NASBA Member database be purchased?
By policy, NASBA does not provide member specific data to any company in list format. We do develop permissive
campaigns where members choose to disclose information regarding their business. We work with third party
companies that can and do provide specific "channel reseller" lists for a fee. Please contact NASBA's Marketing
Services Group for more information at cpatow@nasba.com.
Can NASBA get me plugged into the key resellers I need for my business?
There are a variety of opportunities to interface and build relationships with targeted members. City dinners,
for example, allows vendors to engage resellers in an intimate, informal dinner setting not only to socialize
but to gain valuable information. Additionally, our focus groups, member conference calls, and targeted
communication programs will assist any partner in reaching their target customers. Please contact NASBA's
Marketing Services Group for more information at cpatow@nasba.com.
Does NASBA partner with just hardware and software vendors?
NASBA has current partnering engagements with many of the leading hardware, software, distribution, financial
services, business services, event production, media, research, and consulting companies in the industry. In
addition, we work with over 10 referral partners for specific partner needs in the areas of outsourced sales
services, certification, training and education, as well as many others. For more information on becoming a
NASBA partner and a complete list of our current partners, please refer to the Partner Center on the NASBA.com
web site or contact Frank Raimondi, Executive Director, at 503-828-1924.
Are all NASBA members just System Builders?
NASBA's membership today reflects a broad array of channel resellers. Over 60% of our member base today
consists of Solution Providers, VARs and Integrators; and 32% are system builders and custom computer
solution providers. NASBA members include Channel Suppliers, Custom Computer Solution Providers, Home
System Integrators, Convergence Integrators, Regional Distributors, Second Tier Retail, Service Providers,
System Builders (Third and Fourth tier OEM's), System Integrators, VAP's (Value Added Provider), VAR's
(Value Added Reseller), White Box Builders, White Box Solution Providers, and other channel participants.
What value does NASBA bring to me as a vendor?
NASBA provides many services and values to our partners. Access (both targeted and broad based), intimacy,
information, research, networking opportunities, business services, marketing solutions, business solutions,
leadership, and knowledge regarding all phpects of North America's channel reseller community. Vendors who
support the channel also support NASBA.
What kinds of partner programs does NASBA have?
NASBA has 2 basic partner programs along with many a la carte options. Each has specific elements that are unique to the investment made by the
partner. Details are available by emailing the NASBA Partner Marketing Group at cpatow@nasba.com.
Can I be the exclusive vendor in my category?
NASBA does not offer "exclusive" participation to any vendor partner categorically. As a trade association we
have focused on the market share leaders in about a dozen key product categories and emerging trend areas. For
more specific information please contact Frank Raimondi, Executive Director of NASBA at 503-828-1924.
How is my partnership investment utilized?
Partnership programs are customized specifically for each partner's needs. NASBA, under NDA, conducts a meeting
with your senior management, evaluates channel goals and objectives, and then customizes a plan that best meets
partner-specific goals and objectives. Most programs consist of the following capabilities: consulting, research,
extended marketing, extended sales, and channel intimacy activities.
Can I just advertise on your site and not join a Partner Program?
NASBA offers robust comprehensive marketing programs in addition to many a la carte marketing and sales services.
Electronic banner ads are not available to companies who do not utilize a specific partner program. For more
detailed information please contact cpatow@nasba.com.
I already have over 10,000 registered members in my current channel programs. Why would I want to partner with
NASBA?
Over the last two years (by conservative estimates) thousands of businesses have failed in the US channel
reseller segment alone. During that same time, over thousands more have emerged. No company completely has a
finger on the pulse of the channel. Additionally, every vendor we work with today, has a difficult time
determining if they are getting 10% or 90% of the available business for their products in any given account
beyond their top 5% of active accounts. NASBA, thru a variety of tools, can help implement and execute breadth,
depth and unique channel intimacy programs for any technology company in channels today.
Can I get direct feedback from the NASBA member base?
Many of NASBA's programs provide a direct feedback loop to partners. We can customize permissive electronic
campaigns that can provide additional direct research or program feedback. Please contact NASBA's Marketing
Services Group for more information.
I currently do not have a VAR or system builder program. How can NASBA help me?
NASBA works directly today with over 45 major industry brands that either have formal or informal "channel
specific" partner programs. During the last few years, NASBA's management team has helped architect over a
dozen channel specific programs for current partners or even non-NASBA partners. In addition, NASBA's senior
management has over 20 years of specific channel experience in conceptualizing, developing, and implementing
strategic sales, marketing, and business development campaigns with leading edge technology-based companies. Finally, NASBA has relationships with services and consulting companies, such as the ICN Group, that supplement what NASBA can do for you.
How do I contact NASBA for more information on Partner Programs?
Simply send and email to frank@nasba.com or cpatow@nasba.com for any and all inquiries and we will promptly contact you with information.
What type of research can be done through NASBA?
We have a variety of sources for information and data prospecting in relation to member businesses. We only
work on a permissive basis with our members and participation is optional at all times. We offer face-to-face
or personal touch research as well as copy in our targeted electronic surveys. Please contact NASBA's Marketing
Services Group for more information.
